Madison County is a region that supports community and rural living with a cluster of small towns that each have their own unique character and strengths. Madison County is located in the northeastern part of the state and has an area of 576 square miles. The Elkhorn River flows through the county. Its county seat is Madison and its largest city is Norfolk. Madison County was named for James Madison, fourth President of the United States.
