The Entrepreneurial Community Activation Process provides a framework of education, research, and engagement to assist your community in better understanding current and prospective resident perspectives and aspirations, while inviting residents to help shape the future plans of your community. 

A one-year collaborative process:

  • Consultants and City Governments working together

  • Leveraging resources 

  • Attracting and retaining residents

AREAS OF FOCUS

  • PEOPLE: Gather and assess information and ideas shared through ECAP's community engagement study. Prioritize goals.

  • LAND:  Identification of current land use patterns through a detailed current land use inventory and identification of under utilized areas of opportunity.

  • TRANSPORTATION: Identify and assess main transportation routes. Prioritize improvements. Includes:  streets, sidewalks, trails (safety is a key priority).

  • PUBLIC FACILITIES: Identification and assessment of the buildings, land, and facilities owned by each local government. Prioritization of investments - parks, recreation facilities, civic and community center projects, and infrastructure improvements. Also includes electricity, sanitary/sewer, domestic water, and storm sewer. 

  • ENERGY:  Identification and assessment of current energy practices and its ability to conserve energy as well as utilize renewable energy resources and methods.

  • HOUSING:  The current housing state of each community will be determined based on the individual community's view and current position or progress in this area.

  • BROADBAND: Assist each local government with understanding its local broadband capabilities and set goals to offer quality service that is competitive with surrounding areas.
